Happy New Year

At a time of new resolutions for most of us, I found the New York Times article on
January 1, 2012,

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/01/01/magazine/tara-parker-pope-fat-trap.html?_r=1

applicable, educational and most informative.

Please, find the time to read it. The article emphasized how difficult is to lose weight, and how important are proper eating habits and daily activity as a lifestyle for a long term weight loss.
All non negotiable if one wants to succeed. It is hard and required tremendous patience and perseverance.
There is no magic pill. There are no short cuts. There is only a 100% profound effort that will
emit success. Do not compromise and do your best.

Best wishes for the new year,

Dr. Mick

Sensibility and Wine

First Blog in a Better Site: Cheers!!!

” A single glass of champagne imparts a feeling of exhilaration…
A bottle produces a contrary effect, excess causes a comatose insensibility…”(Winston Churchill)

One glass of red wine per day, and red wine only, increases HDL (good cholesterol) and reduces risk for coronary heart disease (CHD).
An excess risks the liver and kidneys, and profoundly increases triglycerides and the risk for diabetes, stroke, CHD and obesity.

Drink in Moderation.
